Commissioned bowl
A friend who happens to be a woodworker with lots of scrap pieces put together this bowl blank. The rim and foot are cherry. The center is two perpendicular slabs of maple. 8.25″ W x 4.5″ H. Beeswax and mineral oil finish.

This bowl was refurbished for someone. It had been a wedding gift and well loved over the years. The finish had failed. Sandpaper grits used: 120, 180, 220, 320, 400. Finished with Howard’s Butcher Block mineral oil and beeswax. Good to go.
8 inches wide x 4 inches high. Boiled linseed oil finish. This piece is from a black walnut tree that fell in a storm several years ago. This bowl features the sapwood and a small accent from the bark layer.
